This unit allowed students to engage with History and evolution of Typography as a craft and practice, and to communicate individual perspectives through research and design. This course dug deeper into understanding the contributions of women in this typically male-dominated area of Design. It exposed students to the role of women in the evolution of Typography. Furthermore, the aim was to apply the knowledge of Type Classification, Type Anatomy and sound arrangement of Type to create an output by the end of the unit.
Output: An anthology Book where each student contributed one chapter dedicated to a woman Typographer. The process involved compiling all the chapters, identifying the suitable printing method to print the booklet, choosing the right paper, dummy printing and final printing for submission.
